A short bio
This is the place where I write a bunch of fancy things about myself to get you to work with me and not "the other guy." Well, I am a pretty regular, humble, laid back gal, who has been doing this makeup thing for a long time. But before I even thought about getting into makeup, I had a background in fine arts. I was always artistic and sometimes I got out of doing classwork to work on art projects. I feel like this gave me a great advantage when I embarked on the world of makeup; seeing the world as it was -- color, shape, texture, shadows and highlights, sharp edges and diffused lines -- made me feel like I was different, like I could keep my brain from interpreting these things I saw. It was then I started to notice the details in everything, and the ability to manipulate the human form and toy with varying ideas of beauty. I started with Mac Cosmetics when I was 19, and continued to grow, taking my talents to other makeup lines such as Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehl's, NARS, and Shu Uemura. I am very fortunate to have been able to work with so many different lines, and I believe each line has something unique to them that is worth splurging (or saving!) on.
Working in makeup eventually led to my new career in permanent makeup. I offer microblading as well as traditional permanent makeup techniques, and will soon be adding areola reconstruction tattoo. After 10+ years of being in the bridal industry, I will no longer offer bridal makeup starting in 2018, however, I would love to work on editorial and production shoots, so don't hesitate to reach out.
Some of the best advice I ever learned was about how to approach the idea of makeup. Makeup shouldn't present itself as a scary or complicated process. Basic makeup should be simple, glamorous, and should reflect your best possible version of yourself. If you approach with the goal in mind of looking your best, you will be able to learn a few techniques that will be with you for a lifetime. Don't hesitate to contact me, even if it is just for some advice! Please use the contact page to get in touch with me :)
